CALL FOR MOULD TO BE A PRIORITY

Updated: Dec 1, 2021

A Victorian architectural scientist has called for more to be done about mould in public housing and other rental properties.

Whilst he has highlighted the problem in Tasmania, mould issues are also present widely across Australia where warm and humid conditions prevail, and have the potential to cause health consequences to susceptible individuals.

The conventional approach to mould remediation has utilised chemical agents such as chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, quaternary ammonia, etc. While these agents will in fact kill mould, they have certain limitations, and therefore have proven ineffective for long-term control.

In contrast, enzymes provide an ideal solution to the problem of cleaning and removing mould.

Xspor takes the concept one step further and with a carefully designed blend of plant-derived enzymes is able to exploit an evolutionary weakness in mould. It is through this “Achilles’ heel” that we can clean and remove mould and mould spores, pollens, pet dander and other airborne contaminants.
